Souris Valley United Way Awards over $466,989 to Local Area Programs
MINOT, ND –
Souris Valley United Way announced 27 local area programs will receive grants totaling $466,989.
Each grant directly addresses the areas of Education, Financial Stability, and Health.
Grant recipients were recognized on Thursday, May 7, 2015.
Kevin Harmon, Board president stated, “SVUW ensures your donation will make an impact. Together we can enhance the quality of life for all by building a stronger, healthier, and more caring community, enhancing the quality of life for all.”
“The 2014 Campaign was a record year with a 21% increase over last year. Because of the community’s generous contributions, SVUW increased the grant allocations by 21.85%.” Patricia Smith, Executive Director went on to say, “With these additional funds, SVUW was able to assist 5 new applicants that provide youth mentors, senior health care, and refuge services.
