5th Annual Community Shower
MINOT, ND – Souris Valley United Way is hosting their 5th Annual Community Baby Shower will begin on June 1st with numerous businesses as donation drop- offs. The donation drive will end on June 22nd with a collection event at the Dakota Square Mall Food Court from 11-5pm.
“The goal is to collect 12,000 diapers.”, explained Danielle Rued, Campaign Coordinator. “To make a donation, Text: diapers To: 313131 and SVUW volunteers will do the shopping for you! Monetary donations can be sent to the office or completed on the Souris Valley United Way website as well.
A newborn needs 10-12 diapers a day – something you will experience (or re-experience!) with the arrival of your new baby. Set a goal to diaper a newborn in need for a month (300 diapers), three months (900 diapers), or a year (3,650).
Why Is There a Need for Diapers?
• Infants need up to a dozen diapers per day, toddlers need up to 8 diapers per day
• An adequate supply of diapers could cost $100 per month, per child
• Diapers are not covered by WIC or other forms of public assistance
“This year several businesses will participated as drop-off locations and they are all listed on our website and Facebook page.” says Danielle Rued, Campaign Coordinator.
Items needed: Diapers, baby wipes, baby care items, lotions, health care items and adult personal care items.
