Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

We're proud to partner with the Minot Postal Service for the first time to stamp out hunger!

With hunger being an issue our community faces, what better and easier way to help fight the problem than putting a bag of donations with your mailbox to be picked up by a local volunteer.

Join us in the fight on May 9th, 2020 as we work to help our local postal workers reach their goal of 35,000 pounds of food to be distributed to local agencies. We’ll be looking for volunteers to go on each postal route and pick up bags of food that are set out by residents and deliver it back to the Post Office to be counted and sorted.

Why is a partnership like this important you may wonder? We believe that no one should have to tackle things on their own! Supporting our local postal carriers and allowing them to do their daily duties without added stress, shows them that we appreciate the impact their efforts make.

How can you help?

Volunteer...

Take a city or rural postal route and pick up bags of food that the residents put out. A few volunteers will also be needed at the Post Office later in the morning to help with sorting, counting, and distributing the food that comes in from the routes.

Sponsor the event...

Sponsorships are available with the opportunity to have your logo on the brown paper bags that get distributed local homes for residents to put their food in. An opportunity is also available to have your business logo put on the t-shirts the volunteers will be wearing during the event as well as the postal workers in the week leading up to the event. Please contact Jalisa Tinnes at the Souris Valley United Way office for more information on either of these sponsorships at Jalisa@svunitedway.com.
