Women United Awards Grants
Minot, ND - Women United, an affinity group of the Souris Valley United Way, announced that it has awarded 6 new grants totaling $13,500 to support programs that benefit families in Minot and the surrounding area. These programs serve the needs of women, children and families of all ages and abilities.
In February, Women United members and friends participated in the third annual Little Black Dress Campaign which seeks to create awareness of local poverty and provide funding for the advancement of families. The event raised $13,500, which will support organizations whose 2017 fundraising revenue fell short of projected needs.
“We are proud of the support we received again this year for our Little Black Dress Campaign,” said Kelly Loos, Women United president. “The 2018 Campaign was another success story for Women United and the additional women in our community who share our mission. As participation grows from year to year, Women United will continue to create awareness for community concerns and extend financial assistance to select organizations.”
The grant recipients for fiscal year 2018 include:
Children’s Museum of Minot
The Sanctuary (Sober Living Home for Women)
Souris Valley United Way – Community Shower
Women United Program Initiatives
Women United Scholarship Fund
“Women United and Souris Valley United Way are compassionate partners in supporting many organizations in our local area,” said Rich Berg, Executive Director.
